ICYMI: NASCAR Near a Deal to Run San Diego Street Course

We just heard that NASCAR is in serious talks to bring a Cup Series street race to the San Diego area in 2026. It would mark a return to Southern California racing for the first time since Fontana shut down in 2023. While nothing is confirmed yet, we expect an official announcement next month. Since the schedule is limited to 38 races, this new event would have to replace an existing one, maybe even Chicago's street race.
