  • Jeg Coughlin Jr. and SCAG Led Elite Motorsports at NHRA Gatornationals

Press Release | ELITE MOTORSPORTS Jeg Coughlin Jr. and the SCAG Power Equipment / Outlaw Light Beer Pro Stock car made their way to the semifinals on Sunday at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway. Plagued by rain for most of the weekend, Jeg Jr. managed to run a 6.516-second pass at 212.16 mph on Friday to qualify No. 12 after Saturday was rained out. His efforts landed him a first-round matchup against new teammate Greg Stanfield. The race would be over at the starting line with G. Stanfield going -.077 seconds red. Jeg Jr. would cross the finish line officially in 9.193 seconds at 110.95 mph. In the quarterfinals, Jeg Jr. would take on KB Racing rival Eric Latino. With a .025 second reaction time and 6.565-second pass at 208.97 mph, the SCAG hot rod got the victory on a holeshot to Latino’s .038 reaction time and 6.553 pass at 210.31. The semifinals were a legendary lineup with six-time world champion Jeg Jr. facing reigning and six-time Pro Stock world champion Greg Anderson. The race was decided by three-thousandths of a second. Jeg Jr.’s killer .004 reaction time along with his 6.572-second pass at 209.23 mph came up just short to Anderson’s .032 reaction time and 6.541 pass at 210.54. “The start of the season has been quite a marathon. We banged the wall at the SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout specialty race then there was a thrash to attend to the damage and we spent a week at Gainesville Raceway to test before race one of the NHRA Drag Racing Series season,” Jeg Jr. said. “All told we are very happy with the progress we made from Tuesday right up to the semifinal round we lost to Greg Anderson by .0035 seconds. Just a whisker. We’re looking forward to heading west to compete in Arizona, California and Nevada.” Coming off a dominating win at the SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout, Troy Coughlin Jr. , Jeg Jr.’s nephew, qualified No. 6 with a 6.494 second pass at 212.23 mph. Troy Jr. had a clean first round pass of 6.555 seconds and 210.18 mph while his first-round opponent, teammate Aaron Stanfield, had to pedal to a 7.237 at 153.51. In the second round, eventual race winner Dallas Glenn would have 6.571 pass at 209.65 mph to better Troy Jr.’s 6.591 at 209.36. In his first race with Elite Motorsports, Greg Stanfield led the five-car team in qualifying with his 6.491-second run at 212.09 mph that put him fifth. • Chris Bostick Begins NHRA Season with Positive Outlook Despite Early Exit

Press Release | CHRIS BOSTICK MOTORSPORTS Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Chris Bostick kicked off his 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals with optimism, despite an early exit in the first round of eliminations. Riding his new Surf Signature RV Resort Suzuki, Bostick qualified 12th with a solid pass of 6.862 seconds at 196.82 mph. Unfortunately, he faced his White Alligator Racing teammate, Chase Van Sant, in the opening round of eliminations—an all-too-familiar matchup for Bostick, as the two squared off four times last season, including three pivotal Countdown to the Championship races. With only two qualifying sessions due to inclement weather, Bostick entered race day still adapting to his new machine. In their first-round pairing, Van Sant, who qualified fifth with a run of 6.674 at 199.64, took an early starting line advantage and never trailed, clocking a 6.857-second run at 198.12 mph to Bostick’s 6.996 at 193.79. “It wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but I’m really encouraged by what we learned this weekend,” Bostick said. “This new bike is designed to mirror the one Chase rides, and with our crew chief Tim Kulungian tuning both motorcycles, I know we’re on the right path. We just need more time to dial everything in.” While Bostick's Gatornationals run ended earlier than he had hoped, he remains confident about the remainder of the season. “I’m determined to go some rounds this year,” Bostick added. “I know this bike has the potential, and we’re putting in the work to get there.” Van Sant went on to advance to the semifinals before losing to eventual event winner Gaige Herrera. • Dodge, Tony Stewart Racing Announce New Multi-Year Partnership Extension

Press Release | TONY STEWART RACING Dodge//SRT and the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) team announced today a new multi-year extension in its long-standing partnership to field entries in the two nitro-burning divisions — Top Fuel and Funny Car — in the NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series. The announcement was made during a press conference at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals race in Gainesville, Florida. “Working with an elite, championship-caliber team like Tony Stewart Racing brings Dodge and Direct Connection to the forefront at each of the NHRA’s 20 national events, especially with legendary drivers like Tony Stewart and Matt Hagan behind the wheel of our Dodge//SRT Direct Connection Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car, respectively,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “Dodge’s celebrated legacy in NHRA competition dates back more than 60 years and, as a result of this new multi-year partnership, our brand and our fans are looking forward to celebrating in the winner’s circle with Tony, Matt, Leah and the entire TSR organization for years to come.” The Dodge brand began its partnership with TSR in 2022, and the Indiana-based squad has recorded 16 NHRA national event wins, as well as the 2023 NHRA Mission World Funny Car Championship by driver Matt Hagan in the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat. Hagan, a 52-time NHRA national event winner and four-time NHRA World Champion, has scored 13 victories in his three years with the TSR organization, while 2022-2023 TSR teammate Leah Pruett has won three NHRA trophies. Last year, Stewart, a former champion in NASCAR, IndyCar and USAC, took over the driving chores from Pruett, his wife, in the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Top Fuel car, as she stepped away from the driver’s seat to start a family with team owner and husband Stewart. Their son, Dominic, was born on Nov. 18, 2024. Stewart, the NASCAR Hall of Fame racer with 49 Cup Series wins, was named NHRA Rookie of the Year in his first season at the wheel of the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Top Fuel dragster and placed ninth in the final NHRA Mission Top Fuel point standings. The driver known as “Smoke” finished runner-up in two events in 2024, and he also scored the North Central Division Top Alcohol Dragster class championship. The TSR two-car Direct Connection Dodge//SRT operation has been one of the NHRA’s top professional organizations since entering the sport in 2022 and continues to be a front runner throughout the 20-race NHRA national tour. Stewart has been one of the most popular competitors in the NHRA with long lines at the TSR pit area for Stewart’s autographs and photos. “To have racing partners like Dodge//SRT, Mopar and Direct Connection has been a great asset for our TSR team, as well as the entire drag-racing sport,” said Stewart. “It’s important to have strong OEM support in all forms of motorsports, and we are so excited to continue our involvement with the Dodge brand and Direct Connection on our Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car. I’m very appreciative of their support and looking forward to a great future with them in the winner’s circle.” Hagan, one of just four Funny Car drivers (John Force, Don Prudhomme and Kenny Bernstein are the others) to capture four NHRA Mission World Funny Car Championships, enters his 18th season at the wheel of a Dodge//SRT Funny Car. In addition to his four titles, Hagan also has been a history maker on the drag strip on four occasions during his career, including becoming the first Funny Car driver to break the four-second barrier (3.995-second run in 2011) and 3.80 seconds (3.799 in 2015) and to reach 330 mph (2015) and 335 mph (2016) at 1,000 feet. “I’m so pumped up with Dodge//SRT extending its partnership with Tony Stewart Racing,” said Hagan. “It’s awesome to have the sustainability with such great sponsors like Dodge, Mopar and Direct Connection. I am very excited about what our future holds with Dodge. This is my 18th season driving a Dodge//SRT Funny Car, and it’s great to have them supporting what we do. My family has been a Dodge dealer for 50 years, so it makes a nice circle. We can race on Sunday and sell on Monday. “I have won 52 NHRA Funny Car nationals at the controls of a Dodge//SRT machine and won four World Championship with them. The parts, pieces and support Dodge//SRT and Direct Connection give us are truly amazing. We’ve been able to build a championship team, and I am honored to be a part of that with Dodge.” Pruett, whose Dodge and Mopar relationship dates to 2016, continues to be actively involved in the TSR organization with sponsorships, coaching and team strategies. “I have held Dodge, Mopar, and Direct Connection close to my heart for many years, and Tony and I are thrilled to extend the TSR and Dodge//SRT partnership,” said Pruett. “Our partnership with Dodge includes many aspects — our enthusiasm to continue on-track success for the Dodge brand with our team and loyal fans. But it is also a pathway for Direct Connection to continue to connect with their customers through a strong partnership.” The TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT nitro cars begin the 2025 NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series this weekend (March 7-9) with the 56th annual NHRA Gatornationals and the Top Fuel Callout events, as Stewart drives the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Top Fueler and Hagan steers the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat Funny Car. • Tony Schumacher, NHRA's Winningest Top Fuel Driver, Joins Rick Ware Racing

Press Release | RICK WARE RACING Tony Schumacher will be back competing in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series in 2025, and he will do it with Rick Ware Racing (RWR) as a teammate to fulltime Top Fuel driver Clay Millican. Schumacher, the winningest Top Fuel driver in NHRA history, will run a limited Top Fuel campaign in 2025 in preparation for a fulltime season in 2026. His schedule will be announced at a later date. “This opportunity with Rick Ware Racing gets me back in a Top Fuel car where I can compete at a high level immediately,” Schumacher said. “The passion and commitment Rick and his group have for racing is incredible, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel. A limited schedule this year allows us to prepare for 2026 and show people what we’re capable of. “I’m really looking forward to teaming up with Clay. He’s an incredibly talented racer with a ton of experience, and having both of us under one roof is only going to make us stronger. We’ll be able to push each other, share data, and work together to make RWR better.” Schumacher is an eight-time Top Fuel champion and has won 88 Top Fuel events, with the two most recent coming last year in the Thunder Valley Nationals June 9 at Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway and the Midwest Nationals Sept. 29 at Worldwide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. The Chicago native and resident of Austin, Texas, made it to last year’s Countdown to the Championship for the 15th time since its inception in 2007 and finished eighth in the championship standings. “Tony is a huge addition to RWR. Bringing a driver of his caliber into our race team strengthens our overall program,” said team owner Rick Ware. “We now have two of the best NHRA drivers and sponsor ambassadors in the sport. With Clay and Tony working together, they can feed off each other’s strengths, provide detailed feedback and collaborate on what they’re experiencing in the car, and that just elevates our entire operation.” RWR joined the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series in late 2022 and made its debut at that year’s U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. Millican, the winningest driver in IHRA history and a six-time IHRA champion, has been with RWR throughout its entire NHRA tenure. Millican is a seven-time NHRA Top Fuel event winner and has delivered all four of RWR’s NHRA Top Fuel victories – the 2023 Route 66 Nationals May 21 at Route 66 Raceway in Elwood, Illinois, the 2023 Mile High Nationals July 16 at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado, the 2023 Midwest Nationals Oct. 1 at World Wide Technology Raceway, and the 2024 U.S. Nationals Sept. 2 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. “Clay is the cornerstone of our NHRA program,” Ware said. “His talent, dedication and passion for this sport helped put us on the map, and he deserves a ton of credit for the success we’ve had. Every NHRA win in our team’s history has come with Clay, and that speaks volumes about his ability and commitment. We’re not in a position to grow our race team without his presence and contributions. Now, the two hardest-working Top Fuel drivers are right here at RWR.” (Photo Courtesy NHRA)

  • Blake Alexander Announces Expanded Partnership With The Pronto Network and Chad Green Motorsports

Press Release | CHAD GREEN MOTORSPORTS NHRA Funny Car driver Blake Alexander is eager to embark on a new racing season amid a flurry of changes this offseason. He will pull into Gainesville Raceway for the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals on March 6-9 with familiar Pronto Auto Service colors adorning a newly formed outfit. Entering his 10th season of partnership with The Pronto Network, Alexander has worked nonstop this winter since making the decision to align with Chad Green Motorsports and lead the formation of a new Funny Car team. "We have worked incredibly hard for the last 16 weeks,” said Alexander. “Since the NHRA Finals, I have been on the phone, working on proposals, contracts, design, content, etc. I have flown to Indy over and over again and spent time collaborating with Chad on the best way to start this team. We have assembled a group of men I am proud to work with, and I am thankful to be in a position to show up to Gainesville to shake our car down." “We will also celebrate 10 years of racing with The Pronto Network and their members this season. Every weekend, it lights me up when I get the opportunity to converse with these Pronto Auto Service Center customers. I truly enjoy having them at the racetrack with me. I respect that our Pronto Auto Service Center customers use similar parts and processes in their daily grind." “The passion and work ethic Blake has shown mirrors the passion our Pronto Network Members have for their customers who have interacted with Blake and his team at each event the last 10 years,” added Kerri Gulick, director of Marketing and Communications at The Pronto Network. “We are excited to keep building upon a successful partnership this season.” Alexander will drive the car at 15 events this season, with Hunter Green scheduled to make his Professional debut in the car at four of the events. Hunter is a national event winner in the Top Alcohol Dragster category, notably sharing the winner’s circle with his father, Chad, at the 2023 NHRA Finals. “It made sense to expand CGM with a second team if the right person was in place to spearhead the operation, and Blake shares a vision of what it will take to make our program successful on and off the track,” said Chad Green, whose Bond-Coat entry finished in the top 10 the past two seasons including a fifth-place finish in the 2023 standings. “We are looking forward to a great year with both teams. It will be exciting to see Hunter work with them and take the next steps in his racing career. He has already completed his licensing, and we are continuing to get him laps." Alexander’s team will work closely with Chad Green Motorsports crew chiefs Dean Marinis and Joe Serena. Alexander selected Matt Bynum as his crew chief. It is Bynum’s first opportunity as lead tuner at the Professional level. The fast-rising 33-year-old was a crewmember during Del Worsham’s 2015 championship season and was mentored by Worsham and Nick Boninfante Jr. in the car chief position at Kalitta Motorsports and DC Motorsports. He has also earned a Funny Car competition license and has tuned and driven a Nostalgia Funny Car to an event victory at the fabled March Meet. Bynum is working with crewmember Scott Siesing and a crew that has been assembled over the winter. Siesing, 42, is a pupil of 17-time Top Alcohol Funny Car champion Frank Manzo and has crewed for winning programs in the nitro ranks, including John Force Racing and Josh Hart Racing. “It’s great to have a platform to put some of the young talent in the pits in leadership roles that they have been preparing for,” said Alexander. “The collaboration between the two teams is going to play a key role in their success. I feel good about the people who have been put in place to execute the team’s goals." Coming off a career-high No. 6 finish in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Funny Car championship standings, Alexander is one of only 19 drivers in NHRA history to win national events in both the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories. Following his recent stint behind the wheel of the Funny Car owned by recent International Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee Jim Head during which he scored two national event wins, Alexander embraces his new challenge. "We have raced with various teams, families, and personnel, and I am thankful for each one who has supported my wife, Leah, and me,” said Alexander. “This will be a cool experience for me, to be more involved in the operations of the car and race team along with Dean Marinis, Joe Serena, and Matt Bynum. Simultaneously, as much as I have a passion for driving, I am also going to enjoy seeing Hunter’s experience in getting his feet wet in this car we put together. I truly appreciate everyone's kind nature within Chad's team and family and am excited to work with them." Alexander will start the season running with Pronto Auto Service Center livery on his Dodge Charger in Gainesville and Phoenix and then will switch to Schaeffler colors in Pomona. “It is an honor to display the colors and brands of Schaeffler, LUK, and INA automotive parts in a primary fashion again for the fourth season this year,” said Alexander. “I also would be remiss if we didn't mention an expanded partnership with Schaeffler, who supports us each weekend on tour with their quality parts and people. It is also exciting that we are expanding the partnership with DRiV for 2025. We will be featuring their brands in a larger fashion in multiple markets this season and have other new partnerships that CGM will be announcing shortly.” The new team came to fruition this winter from an empty building in Brownsburg, Ind., to a complete operation that will field an 11,000-horsepower Funny Car at the season opener. In addition to highlighting a crew that put in long hours, Chad Green Motorsports also wished to share gratitude for their fellow race teams who were supportive of the effort. "It all started with Josh Hart and Ron Douglas helping us a lot right at the beginning, getting us things we needed to begin the process,” said Chad Green. “Jimmy Prock and John Force Racing were helpful as well. Matt Bynum and Logan Beebe moved into the shop in a camper. There was nothing in there at one point, but now we have made the building feel like home. Our crew has been working tirelessly upgrading my car, and we are pleased to begin the new season with new partnerships with Logan Industries, Flying H Dragstrip, Gates, Champion, Fel-Pro, Red Line Oil, and Mahle." • NHRA Teams With GESi For GESi Pro Stock No. 1 Qualifier Award For 2025 Season

Press Release | NHRA NHRA officials announced today that GESi will be the sponsor of the No. 1 qualifier award in Pro Stock as part of a multi-year partnership. The GESi Pro Stock No. 1 Qualifier Award will be handed out at each of the 18 Pro Stock events during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, beginning with this weekend’s 56th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at legendary Gainesville Raceway. The top qualifier in the loaded Pro Stock field will earn $2,000 at each event, adding a special bonus – along with some extra intensity – to the two days of qualifying. “I love this class and I think if you work that hard to become the No. 1 qualifier you should be rewarded for it,” GESi CEO Eric Latino said. “It’s such a high-level professional class and we wanted to step up and provide this. I wanted to give back and I’m really looking forward to this. It should be really exciting this year.” The GESi Pro Stock No. 1 Qualifier Award is another way the company has become involved in NHRA drag racing. Latino is the CEO of GESi, which specializes in the design, engineering and manufacturing of world-leading global emission systems. Last year, reigning Pro Stock world champion Greg Anderson dominated in qualifying, earning eight No. 1 positions. Six-time champion Erica Enders, who won the season-opening Gatornationals, was right behind with seven No. 1 qualifiers as the two veterans reigned supreme during qualifying. Dallas Glenn, who finished second in points, had a pair of top qualifying efforts in 2024. Anderson leads all Pro Stock competitors with 132 career No. 1 qualifying positions. “We’re excited to partner with GESi on this award, which offers a little more incentive for the drivers in Pro Stock to try and get that No. 1 position,” NHRA Director of Advertising/Sponsorship Sales Jeff Morton said. “GESi has proven to be a great partner across several categories and they are passionate about NHRA drag racing and especially the Pro Stock category. This will be a great award to track throughout the year as teams put in a great amount of effort to try and qualify No. 1.” For more information on NHRA, including the 2025 schedule, visit www.NHRA.com. • Chase Briscoe’s Daytona Penalty Overturned

NASCAR The National Motorsports Appeals Panel today heard and considered an appeal of an L2 penalty issued on Feb. 19, 2025 to driver Chase Briscoe, crew chief James Small and owner Joe Gibbs in the NASCAR Cup Series. The penalty concerns the following sections of the 2025 NASCAR Rule Book for the owner and driver: Sections 14.1.C,D,S Overall Assembled Vehicle Rules and 14.5.8.A Spoiler. The penalty issued was a four-race suspension to the crew chief; $100,000 fine to the owner; and the loss of 100 championship points and 10 Playoff Points to the owner and driver. Upon hearing the testimony, the decisions of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel are: That the Appellants did not violate the Rule(s) set forth in the Penalty Notice. In reaching the above decision, the panel provided the following explanation: “The panel believes that the elongation of some of the holes on the number 19 Cup car spoiler base is caused by the process of attaching that specific spoiler base to the rear deck and not modification of the single source part.” The Appeals Panel members for this hearing: Mr. Dixon Johnston Mr. Hunter Nickell Ms. Cathy Rice Statement from Joe Gibbs Racing: “We appreciate the process NASCAR has in place that allowed us the opportunity to present our explanation of what led to the penalty issued to our No. 19 team,” said Joe Gibbs, owner of Joe Gibbs Racing. “We are thankful for the consideration and ruling by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel. It is obviously great news for our 19 team and everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing. We look forward to focusing on the remainder of our season starting this weekend in Phoenix.” (Photo Courtesy NASCAR)

  • Kyle Larson and William Byron to Split Trio of Races in Spire Motorsports Truck

Press Release | SPIRE MOTORSPORTS Kyle Larson, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion and William Byron, a 14-time race winner in NASCAR’s premier division, will split time behind the wheel of Spire Motorsports’ No. 07 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Silverado in a trifecta of NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races in 2025. Larson, a native of Elk Grove, Calif., will race the No. 07 Chevy Silverado in the March 21 Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and return to the cockpit two races later for the April 11 WEATHER GUARD Truck Race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Byron, will thread the needle between Larson’s two stints and handle the driving chores for the Allen Hart-led program March 28 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Byron returns the site of his most recent CRAFTSMAN Truck Series win where, ironically, he collected Spire Motorsports inaugural victory in the division. Both Hendrick Motorsports drivers have picked up checkered flags in Truck Series competition for the Mooresville, N.C., organization over the last three seasons. “One of the coolest things of having a CRAFTSMAN Truck Series team is to have the crossover from Hendrick Motorsports and Hendrick Automotive Group,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson. “We’ve had all their drivers in our trucks from time to time, and to have two guys in William (Byron) and Kyle (Larson), who have won races with us back in the seat, certainly gives the team a little more pep in our step. It also raises the bar for those races to win or bust. You don’t show up with those guys to do anything else but win.” Larson and Byron will be part of a HendrickCars.com trio of Spire Motorsports-prepared entries at all three events. In addition to the No. 07 machine, Rajah Caruth will sport his traditional HendrickCars.com paint scheme aboard his No. 71 Chevy while Larson’s fellow Hendrick Motorsports stablemate Corey Day will pilot the team’s No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado, featuring an identical livery. The 32-year-old Larson, often referred to as “Yung Money,” owns three Homestead CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts where he tallied one pole and a pair of top fives, including a second-place finish in the 2014 season finale. Larson made his lone Bristol start in Truck Series competition in 2021 when the famed half-mile was covered in dirt. Regrettably, he was saddled with a 35th-place after being collected in an incident just past the halfway mark of the 150-lap event. “I love racing at Homestead-Miami (Speedway) and Bristol (Motor Speedway), so I’m excited to add those Truck races to my schedule,” said Larson. “Hopefully, we can put on a great show with HendrickCars.com on board and battle for the victories in the Spire truck.” In addition to his success in the Cup Series, Byron was highly accomplished on the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series side of the sport and lays claims to eight victories across 29 starts – seven of which came during the 2016 season. Meanwhile, the Charlotte, N.C., native owns two Martinsville wins on NASCAR grandest stage, where he secured the historic half-mile’s famed grandfather clock trophy in spring of 2022 and 2024. “I’m excited to get back to the Truck Series,” said Byron. “It’s been a couple years for me so I’m ready to try it again. Plus, the last time I ran a truck at Martinsville we won. Hopefully, we can do that again because it really paid off for us on the Cup side of things. Spire is a great group, and I’m excited to work with them again.” The Baptist Health 200 from Homestead-Miami Speedway will be televised live on FOX Friday, March 21 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The fourth of 25 races on the 2025 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series schedule will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. (Photo Courtesy NASCAR)
