- Racing Refresh Team Previews - McLaren (F1)
By Ryan Wu McLaren F1 Two full-time entries in Formula One Car No. 4 Lando Norris Photo from www.x.com/McLarenF1 2024 Stats Norris was in this ride last season Final Standings Position – 2nd Best 2024 Finish – P1 four times, at the Miami, Dutch, Singapore and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Points – 374 Career Formula One Stats Starts – 128 Wins – 4 Podiums - 26 ---------- Car No. 81 Oscar Piastri Photo from www.x.com/McLarenF1 2024 Stats Piastri was also in this ride last season Final Standings Position – 4th Best 2024 Finish – P1 twice, at the Hungarian and Azerbaijan Grand Prix Points – 292 Career Formula One Stats Starts – 46 Wins – 2 Podiums – 10 2025 Hopes and Expectations McLaren will retain the same driver duo that delivered their first Constructors' Championship in over two decades, with a combined total of six wins and 21 podiums. Lando Norris finally shed his unfortunate ‘Lando No Wins’ moniker and ended up with four wins. The key question is whether the team can sustain their impressive growth and if Lando Norris can continue his rise as a genuine title contender. Bold Prediction McLaren will remain as the main title competitor to Red Bull for another season but will ultimately fall short again in their drivers’ championship chase.
- Racing Refresh Team Previews - Joe Gibbs Racing (Cup Series)

He showed some promise at Stewart-Haas Racing, but never fully materialized into the dominant force (particularly at Road Courses) he was in the Xfinity Series. A step up in equipment should help him here. Ty Gibbs looks to be on the precipice of that first career Cup Series win. Christopher Bell has shown himself to be a safe bet to make the Final Four (though he narrowly missed out last season). Then there’s Denny Hamlin, who many tout as the best driver to never win a championship. Joe Gibbs Racing will be hoping for Ty Gibbs to earn that first victory and make a solid playoff push, Briscoe to grow into his ride and compete for wins, Bell to challenge for the championship, and at this point in Hamlin’s career it might be championship or bust.

With defending champion Justin Allgaier being the ‘old guard,’ he’ll be the leader of a younger team. Both Carson Kvapil and Connor Zilisch will be competing for Rookie of the Year in ’25, but watch for them to be competitive early. Sammy Smith is the wildcard of the group, as he enters his third full-time Xfinity Series season. Allgaier will be a perennial contender for the championship, and so anything less will be a step back. Smith needs to make the playoffs and push for a spot in the Final Four. There might not be room for both Kvapil and Zilisch in the playoffs, but they’ll certainly try – and it’s not unrealistic to think they’ll have a shot.
- Racing Refresh Team Previews - McAnally-Hilgemann Racing

They’re likely hoping to compete for a championship with either Tyler Ankrum or Daniel Hemric, but that might be just too lofty of a goal. Hemric is taking a step back after a few years in the Cup Series – will his Cup experience give him a leg up? Or will it take him a bit to get used to the Trucks again. Ankrum has been solid, but he hasn’t had that winning acumen to bank on. Connor Mosack is running for Rookie of the Year, and Jack Wood is still young and unproven. McAnally-Hilgemann has decent equipment, so they’ll have plenty of opportunity to succeed.
- Racing Refresh Team Previews - Scuderia Ferrari (F1)

The major question for the team is whether Hamilton and Leclerc can work harmoniously and if Ferrari's recent improvements will be enough to help Hamilton secure a record-breaking eighth World Championship. Hamilton's performances in previous years' cars have fans excited about this new partnership, and he personally ended a two-year win drought this past season. Leclerc secured three victories in 2024, achieving the highest points total of his career. Bold Prediction The excitement doesn’t last long, as driver controversies will follow Scuderia throughout the year, with questions lingering about who the ‘number one’ driver is. As a result, Ferrari will slip in the standings.

Riley Herbst will be vying for Rookie of the Year, and will likely just be looking to get his feet under him. Bubba Wallace needs to find victory lane this year, or his seat may start getting warm. Last year, he was vocally disappointed in his performance, especially with teammate Tyler Reddick winning the Regular Season Championship. Bubba will be looking for some more consistency and at least a win. Reddick has shown consistency and the ability to put wins up – he just needs to seal the deal. Last year was his first time in the Championship Four, but he’ll be hungry to return and possibly take home the big prize while he’s at it.
- Chili’s Celebrates Its Presidente Margarita With ‘Ride the ‘Dente’ Campaign Spire Motorsports
Press Release | SPIRE MOTORSPORTS Chili’s® Grill & Bar is shifting into high gear for the 2025 NASCAR season with the launch of its new ‘Ride the Dente’™ campaign. The campaign is part of a multi-race partnership extension with Spire Motorsports, celebrating Chili’s freshly rebranded Presidente Margarita®, which will be showcased across Chili’s owned social channels and on FOX during the race in Daytona this week. The Presidente, or ‘Dente’, has been a menu staple since 1994, featuring reposado tequila, brandy, orange liqueur and a head-turning presentation. Chili’s team members walk through the restaurant, shaking the margarita loudly by hand, before pouring it into a handblown, blue-rimmed glass reserved only for the Presidente. It’s served alongside a blue shaker, that now features a refreshed logo, giving guests the opportunity to pour seemingly endless margaritas. But the ‘Dente isn’t just a deliciously flashy margarita; it’s the answer to any occasion. Night out with friends? Ride the ‘Dente. Hard day at the office? Ride the ‘Dente. Chili’s returning to Daytona? Ride the ‘Dente. This philosophy, along with the iconic blue shaker and all the non-stop fun it stands for, comes to life in Chili’s new ‘Ride the ‘Dente’ country song and music video. Ride the ‘Dente Country Song and Music Video The full-length country song and music video – featuring the Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente Chevy – spotlights a charismatic race-car-driver-turned country star, taking viewers on a wild ride from the racetrack to a larger-than-life celebration at Chili’s. Fans can watch the video on Chili’s YouTube channel, social media, and during race broadcasts throughout the NASCAR season. “Our partnership with Spire Motorsports started as a way to bring Chili’s to the track and connect with NASCAR fans over what we do best – serving up our famous Presidente Margaritas,” said George Felix, Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This year, we’re cranking it up a notch. We wanted to take our relationship with NASCAR fans to the next level, and what better way than breaking into country music to tell the story of the ‘Dente? ‘Ride the ‘Dente’ will be the newest Chili’s earworm – and hopefully the new shorthand for grabbing a marg at Chili’s. And this is just the beginning of what we have planned this season.” Spire Motorsport Partnership Renewal Chili’s multi-race partner extension with Spire Motorsports kicks off with Daytona-winning racer Justin Haley and championship-winning crew chief Rodney Childers making their points racing debut together in the No. 7 Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente Chevrolet ZL1 throughout Daytona Speedweeks. It culminates with the 67th annual Daytona 500 Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on FOX. “We are beyond grateful to have Chili’s on this journey with us again in 2025,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson. “We expect big things from Justin, Rodney and that whole No. 7 group this year, but we learn something every day from everyone at Chili’s and love how they push the envelope with their activations and promotions. The car looks great, the firesuits stand out and every time we’ve sat down at the table with Chili’s, they always come up with something new and creative. It’s inspiring and it’s obviously working when you see the growth that they’ve experienced. There is so much that our organization can learn from Chili’s, and I ask our team to match that energy every day.” On the track, Chili’s Ride the ‘Dente Chevy’s design ties western flourishes with a custom Ride the ‘Dente logo on the hood. Justin Haley will sport a showstopping firesuit featuring a personalized Texas-sized belt buckle detail, faux denim jeans and a western, button-down motif. A close look at the Chili’s pepper logos on the doors reveals the names of all 1,105 general managers at corporate-owned Chili’s restaurants – honoring the hardworking teams that bring the Chili’s experience to life every day. “I’m pumped to have Chili’s back on board the No. 7, especially in the Daytona 500,” said Haley. “It’s one of my favorite tracks and the Daytona 500 is a race I’ve been looking forward to since my return to Spire. We had a lot of fun last year and I’m excited to see what we get into this year. There’s no better way for fans to gear up for the Great American Race than to pour a couple of ‘Dentes and settle in for 500 miles of chaos at Daytona. We’ll do our best to put the No. 7 Chevy up front and Ride the ‘Dente all the way to Victory Lane.” Race fans in the Daytona area have a chance to meet Haley and fellow Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar and see the No. 7 Ride the ‘Dente Chevy at Chili’s Ormond Beach this Friday, Feb. 14 at noon. The drivers will be signing autographs, taking part in a Q&A session with Barstool Sports’ Rubbin’ is Racing podcast hosts Spider and Large, and shaking Presidente Margaritas of their own. Chili’s will also hit the track on Saturday, Feb. 15 for the Chili’s ‘Ride the ‘Dente’ 200 at Daytona International Speedway, the season-opening event for the ARCA Menards Series. Marking Chili’s first as an official entitlement partner, the green flag drops at noon ET. For Chili’s guests who aren’t in Daytona, the opportunity to Ride the ‘Dente always exists on the menu at their local Chili’s, including on one of Chili’s favorite days of the year, National Margarita Day. On Saturday, Feb. 22, guests can stop by their local Chili’s to enjoy the margarita that delights millions each year and Ride the ‘Dente themselves. (Photo Courtesy Spire Motorsports)
- Sampey to Debut First Canopy A/Fuel Dragster with Support of Hangsterfer’s
Press Release | NHRA Three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion Angelle Sampey is set to debut the first canopy-equipped Top Alcohol Dragster with the backing of Hangsterfer’s Metalworking Lubricants. A global leader in the motorsports, aerospace, and medical manufacturing industries, Hangsterfer’s latest contribution to NHRA Drag Racing includes partnering with Antron Brown’s AB Motorsports Accelerate program and Sampey as they prepare to debut the first enclosed canopy cockpit on an A/Fuel Dragster at the season-opening Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway next month. As a former member of Don Schumacher Racing, AB Motorsports team owner and driver Brown was the second NHRA driver to compete in the modern canopy Top Fuel dragster that first hit the track in 2012. NHRA officials have since approved the canopy-style dragster body to compete in the Top Alcohol Dragster category beginning this season. “We’re excited to be the first to field a canopy car in the Top Alcohol Dragster class,” Brown said. “I first started racing in a canopy car in 2013, and it’s something I feel strongly about. Safety is always first and foremost, and I’m glad we were able to implement this on Angelle’s car. A huge thank-you to Hangsterfer’s for supporting this initiative. This is the next step in seeing the category continue to be a developmental platform for the future crop of Top Fuel drivers. Our goal has always been to steadily prepare Angelle to move to Top Fuel, and by converting our race-proven backup car into an A/Fuel car, we’re moving towards that objective.” Sampey began preparations for the upcoming race season on Feb. 10 at Bradenton Motorsports Park with her Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) team, led by brothers Corey and Kyle. The team will continue to test at the Florida facility through Feb. 12, and the canopied Hangsterfer’s dragster will make its official on-track entry on March 6 to begin qualifying for the Gatornationals. “I’ve never been more excited to start a race season, and I truly mean that,” Sampey said. “Hangsterfer’s has stepped up to support AB Motorsports and the Accelerate program to allow me to live my dreams and improve behind the wheel of this A/Fuel Dragster with the goal of graduating up to Top Fuel in the near future.” Last season, Sampey raced the green and black Hangsterfer’s dragster to the final round at the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals over Labor Day weekend before capturing her first career win on four wheels at the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals in Reading in September. It was her 47th NHRA triumph to go along with her three NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championships. “We had such a wonderful first full season in A/Fuel last year with Hangsterfer’s and my MBR team, and that was capped off by winning at Reading last fall and doubling up with Antron’s team,” added Sampey. “That really was one of my greatest days in racing. I got to attend the IMTS [International Manufacturing Technology Show] in Chicago, spend much of the PRI Show in Indy, and the Blackhawk Industrial Tradeshow in Oklahoma City this January with my Hangsterfer’s family, and they sincerely have become family in a very short time. I can’t wait for the great things in store in 2025.” Hangsterfer’s, which joined Brown’s Matco Tools Top Fuel team while at Don Schumacher Racing, enters a second decade in support of the four-time NHRA Top Fuel champion and 80-time race winner. Hangsterfer’s branding will again adorn the sides of the Matco Tools car, along with primary branding on Sampey’s A/Fuel Dragster, which will compete in up to 15 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series races throughout the 2025 season. The Hangsterfer’s sales team also will host more than 300 guests, trackside, in AB Motorsports’ Pit-Side Experience hospitality area that flanks Brown’s Top Fuel pit. “Hangsterfer’s, with Mike Ditzel and the Jones family, continues to be such an amazing partner and avid supporter of our team and the sport of NHRA Drag Racing,” Brown added. “They continue to help our organization grow for the future while working very closely with our partners to cultivate B2B relationships, which helps us with a better product on the track, while the support and technology from Hangsterfer’s help our vendor partners produce a better-quality product.” The Hangsterfer’s/ABM partnership has proven beneficial in opening doors to vendors who now utilize Hangsterfer’s products in their facilities. ABM vendors such as Point 1, DSR Performance, Race Winning Brands, and Darton Sleeves all use Hangsterfer’s coolant and cutting fluid in their CNC machines thanks to relationships which were born trackside at the dragstrip. “Hangsterfer’s has been a sponsor of Antron Brown for more than a decade now, and we are proud to be a part of his success in becoming a champion team owner and driver,” Mike Ditzel, Hangsterfer’s director of Motorsports Performance Products, said. “My personal relationship with Antron has grown beyond the dragstrip. To call Antron a friend is an understatement. “With ABM’S Accelerate program, we are proud to have supported Angelle Sampey as she turned the page from Pro Stock Motorcycle to driving the Hangsterfer's A/Fuel Dragster. We’re excited to see her turn on more win lights in 2025 and compete for an NHRA championship.” (Photo Courtesy NHRA)
