  • NASCAR’s Cook Out Clash Winner Will Receive Bobby Allison Memorial Trophy

Press Release | NASCAR NASCAR and Bowman Gray Stadium announced today that the winner’s trophy for the Cook Out Clash will be named the Bobby Allison Memorial Trophy. It’s in honor of the late NASCAR Hall of Famer and former multi-time winner at The Madhouse. “Few drivers are as engrained in the history of Bowman Gray Stadium than the legendary Bobby Allison,” said Justin Swilling, NASCAR’s Project Manager for the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. “We reached out to Wood Brothers Racing, who shared photos of previous NASCAR Cup Series trophies awarded to Bowman Gray Stadium winners, and Jostens designed a trophy that lived up to that legacy. And when the Wood Brothers suggested we name the trophy after such a legendary figure in Bowman Gray Stadium history as Bobby Allison, it made perfect sense.” One of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, Bobby Allison carries an extensive list of accomplishments that includes his 1983 NASCAR Cup Series championship season, three DAYTONA 500 victories in 1978, 1982 and 1988, two NASCAR Modified Division championships in 1964 and 1965, two NASCAR Modified Special Division titles in 1962 and 1963, and a fantastic 1972 season when he won 10 races, had 12 second-place efforts, and 11 poles while finishing second to Richard Petty in the Cup Series championship standings. The 1971 Myers Brothers Memorial 250, the 29th and most recent Cup Series race at Bowman Gray Stadium, was won by Bobby Allison in a disputed finish due to the circumstances of the race and the size of the car he drove. It was not until Oct. 23, 2024, when NASCAR officially recognized Allison’s victory and awarded him the 85th win of his career, placing him fourth on the all-time Cup Series wins list. Allison passed away the following month. The trophy itself is a marvelous Jostens design standing 31 inches tall. It is made of handcrafted wood with a rich, black finish and black powder-coated metal cup. The custom gold metal columns accent a 24-karat gold, hand-polished car and Cook Out Clash logo cut by a 600w laser. Jostens also designed the Cook Out Madhouse Classic Trophy, which is an exquisite 25-inch tall masterpiece of handcrafted wood and laser-cut aluminum. Competition will be fierce Sunday night as the world’s top drivers compete for that trophy in the first Cup Series Race at Bowman Gray Stadium since 1971. The event, broadcast live on FOX, sold out in November, and only a limited number of seats remain for the Cook Out Madhouse Classic on Saturday. A ticket to Saturday’s race will also include Cup Series practice and qualifying as the 2025 season revs its engines in historic fashion. Fans are encouraged to visit NASCARClash.com to secure remaining experiences and parking while supplies last. On-site parking for Sunday is sold out and only a limited number of on-site spots remain for Saturday. Thus, fans should act swiftly in securing both on-site and off-site parking for the event while supplies last. NASCAR has created off-site parking options at Innovation Quarter and Allegacy Stadium that include climate-controlled transportation to and from the event. (Photo Credit: x.com/nascarclash )

  • HendrickCars.Com Renews With Brittany Force and John Force Racing

Press Release | JOHN FORCE RACING HendrickCars.com, the online home of Charlotte-based Hendrick Automotive Group, the country’s largest privately-held auto retail organization, today announced an extension of its drag racing partnership with John Force Racing and its three World Championship-winning drivers: Brittany Force, Austin Prock and Jack Beckman. Cornerstone of the endeavor is primary sponsorship of Brittany Force, the two-time Top Fuel World Champion and first woman to win a four-wide race, at both NHRA tour events contested this year at ZMax Dragway – the original 4Wide Nationals (April 26-28) and the newly-minted Carolina 4Wide Nationals, second race in the Countdown to the Championship (Sept. 20-22). Beyond its star turn with Brittany at ZMax, HendrickCars.com will serve as major associate sponsor on her national record-holding dragster for the other 18 events in the Mission Foods series. Additionally, HendrickCars.com will assume the role of major associate sponsor on the Chevrolet SS driven to the 2024 World Championship by the 29-year-old Prock, and again will be an associate on the companion Chevrolet driven by Beckman on behalf of recovering JFR founder and CEO John Force. “It’s an honor and a pleasure to work with Rick Hendrick and HendrickCars.com on this partnership,” Force said. “I’ve known Rick a long time. He sets the standard when it comes to excellence and success in motorsports. I’m excited for my daughter and hope our teams can bring home a few ‘Wally’ winner’s trophies for HendrickCars.com. “I’m honored to be teamed up once again with HendrickCars.com,” said Brittany Force, winner of last October’s NHRA Nevada Nationals at Las Vegas, “and we’re looking forward to celebrating a victory in their hometown.” The JFR collaboration gives HendrickCars.com an across-the-board World Championship presence in an NHRA series in which it also sponsors six-time and reigning NHRA Pro Stock Champion Greg Anderson and his Chevrolet. John Force and Anderson are the only pro drivers in the sport to have won as many as 100 tour events. While Hendrick is known for his success in the NASCAR series in which Hendrick Motorsports drivers have won a record 312 events and 14 Cup championships, he actually traces his competitive roots to drag racing. “I’ve had a lifelong passion for drag racing. It’s how I first fell in love with motor sports, going to the local dragstrip with my dad.” said the chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group. “I’ve been a fan of John and his family for a long time, and our company is proud to partner with everyone at John Force Racing. They’re terrific representatives of HendrickCars.com, and we look forward to another exciting season.” (Photo Courtesy NHRA)
