  • Short Track Star Layne Riggs Joins Kaulig Racing’s Xfinity Series Program in Multi-Race Deal

Press Release | KAULIG RACING Lexington, N.C. (September 18, 2023) – Kaulig Racing announced today that 2022 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series (NAAWS) champion, Layne Riggs, will drive the No. 11 Infinity Communications Chevrolet in a multi-race NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) deal. He will make his series debut at Texas Motor Speedway on September, 23 for the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300. Son of Scott Riggs, a NASCAR veteran who made 383 national series starts, Riggs became the youngest driver to win the NAAWS title, which is the combined national championship for all NASCAR-affiliated short tracks, at 20 years old in 2022. He won 16 races and recorded 30 top-five finishes in 43 starts across runs at Dominion Raceway, Hickory Motor Speedway, Motor Mile Speedway, South Boston Speedway and Wake County Speedway. Now age 21, Riggs will bring a unique background to his first start with Kaulig Racing. “I’m so excited to be making my first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas Motor Speedway with a team that has had success in the Xfinity Series,” exclaimed Riggs. “I am super thankful to Jeff Coffey at Infinity Communications along with the whole Kaulig Racing organization for giving me this opportunity. I am so ready to get on track!" While this will be Riggs’ first start in the NXS, he has made six starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS), and earned one top five and two top-10 finishes. The Kaulig Racing All-Star Car, which has been piloted by the likes of AJ Allmendinger, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Justin Haley and Jordan Taylor, has so far yielded three wins in 2023. It has also provided up-and-coming drivers like Derek Kraus valuable seat time. Riggs will be the 11th driver to feature in the car this season. “I’ve been watching Layne (Riggs) on the short-track circuit for a couple of years now and I am impressed what he has earned so far in his young career,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “He’s had a couple of starts in the truck series and I look forward to seeing what he can do in one of our cars.” Rice continued, “Infinity Communications has been a huge supporter of Layne's career so far, so I’m happy that he is able to bring them along for the ride”. The Andy's Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway will air at 3:30 p.m. EDT on USA and will be the second race in the NXS Playoffs Round of 12.

  • 30-Second Read - Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway

By Matt Marr Christopher Bell, having won his third consecutive pole, led the field to the green flag Saturday night at the Bass Pro Shops Night Race in Bristol, Tennessee. An incident between AJ Allmendinger and Austin Cindric brought out the caution. On the ensuing restart on lap 76, Corey Lajoie and Bubba Wallace made up the front row after staying out on older tires. With less than 20 laps to go in the stage, a caution came out for precipitation. After a few caution laps, it was determined that the track was okay, despite the light rain. Christopher Bell found his way back up to the front and won Stage One. Before restarting for Stage Two, the red flag was brought out due to heavier rain, but it was short-lived. Bell and Kyle Larson restarted on the front row to begin Stage Two on lap 140. In dominating fashion, Christopher Bell won Stage Two, putting multiple playoff drivers a lap down in the process. Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin brought the field to the start of the Final Stage on lap 261. Shortly after, the caution came out on lap 263. Corey Lajoie, Ryan Newman and Joey Logano were involved, and it proved to be costly for the defending champ. Logano’s car was beyond repair and he wound up finishing 34th. Denny Hamlin dominated the final stage and won the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Bass Pro Shop Night Race Top 5: 1. Denny Hamlin 2. Kyle Larson 3. Christopher Bell 4. • Trackhouse Signs Shane van Gisbergen to 2024 Developmental Program

Press Release | TRACKHOUSE RACING Concord, North Carolina – Trackhouse Racing and Shane van Gisbergen today announced an agreement that will see the three-time Supercar champion and winner of NASCAR’s inaugural Chicago Street Race move to America to drive in a combination of races in NASCAR’s three national series in the 2024 season. Trackhouse has agreed to build a 2024 program that will put the 34-year-old Auckland, New Zealand native in select races in NASCAR’s Cup, Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series plus some late model and other races. Since shocking the NASCAR world on July 2 by winning his Cup Series debut, van Gisbergen has set his sights on launching a NASCAR career. “This announcement means so many things to me. “I’m proud of what I have achieved here in Australia, but I’m excited by this new chapter in my career and the opportunities that it brings. “I’m so thankful to everyone who has played a role in my career so far, especially Triple Eight Race Engineering, and looking forward to finishing our year with a few more highlights! “It is time for a new challenge and this adventure into NASCAR will be the biggest challenge of my career and one I’m really looking forward to. I want to thank Justin Marks (Trackhouse founder and owner) and everyone at Trackhouse Racing who have taken a chance on me and given me this opportunity. I’m excited to get to America and getting the season started.” Van Gisbergen’s Chicago victory and 10th-place finish on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Aug. 13 are his only two Cup Series starts. His only other NASCAR experience came Aug. 11 at Indianapolis Raceway Park where he made his paved oval career debut. He kept a lead lap position until the final few laps, finishing 18th. At Chicago, Van Gisbergen became one of six foreign born drivers to win a Cup Series race and the first driver since Johnny Rutherford in 1963 to win his first Cup Series start. It was just the latest entry in a resume that includes Supercars Championships for Triple Eight Race Engineering in 2016, 2021 and 2022, plus 78 wins and 47 pole positions making him the fourth most successful driver in series history. He also won the Bathurst 1000 in 2020 and 2022. Van Gisbergen’s Chicago opportunity came through Trackhouse’s PROJECT91 program created last year and designed to expand the organization’s global reach by fielding a Cup Series entry for renowned international racing drivers. Indianapolis marked the fourth race for PROJECT91 after appearances by 2007 Formula One World Champion Kimi Räikkönen at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International in 2022 and at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on March 26. Marks said Trackhouse is designing van Gisbergen’s 2024 schedule to introduce him to NASCAR. “This is going to be a tremendous challenge for Shane but he is a tremendous driver as we have all seen,” said Marks. “Next year will be about getting him acclimated to oval track racing, superspeedways, 1.5-mile tracks and everything he has never experienced in his career. It’s obviously going to be a learning process, but we think Shane will perform quite well.” Van Gisbergen will join Trackhouse drivers Daniel Suárez and Ross Chastain in 2024. Chastain won the June 25 race at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway a week before van Gisbergen’s Chicago victory. A week after Chicago, Suárez finished second at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga.

  • Trackhouse Partners With Aerial Recovery

(Photo Source: Twitter.com/TeamTrackhouse) Press Release | TRACKHOUSE RACING NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Run to the fire. Swim in the flood. Search in the rubble. Rescue the trafficked. Heal the heroes who have served. These are just some of the global missions of Aerial Recovery, a veteran-led 501c3 nonprofit organization based out of Nashville that is announcing a new partnership today with Trackhouse Entertainment Group and its Trackhouse Racing division. Aerial Recovery’s mission is to SAVE LIVES & STOP EVIL, which is carried out by 3 Core Pillars: The Heal the Heroes Initiative, Man-made and Natural Disaster Relief, and Anti-Human Trafficking. This group of highly skilled former Special Forces Operators from the Heal the Heroes Initiative now train and deploy as Humanitarian Special Operators, saving lives amidst natural and man-made disasters and engaging in complex global anti-human trafficking missions. In the partnership, Trackhouse will support Aerial Recovery with recognition, marketing, corporate support, and fundraising efforts to enhance the scope of this important recovery work. Trackhouse Racing will feature the Aerial Recovery story on its No. 99 Chevrolet with driver Daniel Suárez during Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The race marks the beginning of a new relationship as the Aerial Recovery mission will become an extension of the Trackhouse Racing community impact initiatives. “I have spent a lot of time with the Aerial Recovery leadership over the last few months, and the more I learn, the more I want Trackhouse to embrace their mission,” said Trackhouse Founder and Owner Justin Marks. “Positively impacting the lives of those in need, and in many cases, saving their lives all together, is a mission ALL of us can get behind. This is what Trackhouse is about. Finding opportunities for good and wanting to bring as much recognition to these efforts as possible and help raise money to fund these incredible recovery missions. “These men and women are expertly trained and highly skilled, and it is an honor to know people who put these skill sets to work in the harshest and most austere conditions like war zones and sites of tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, and floods. Trackhouse is looking forward to providing Aerial Recovery with sophisticated branding, marketing, public relations, partner support, and fundraising.” Aerial Recovery’s work is both international and domestic. Their Heal the Heroes Initiative exists to support military veterans and first responders during and after their transition from military and service careers to civilian life. The organization does this through a completely donor-supported year-long program that consists of four phases: Healing Retreat, Mentorship Program, Entrepreneurship Education, and ongoing Heroes’ Community. As the Heroes complete the program and additional training, they become Humanitarian Special Operators who deploy on Aerial Recovery’s missions. “We repurpose military veterans primarily from the Special Forces community,” explains Aerial Recovery Co-Founder/CSO Jeremy Locke, retired Green Beret. “We take these Operators, and we respond to some of the most critical missions all over the world and provide life-saving aid to people in their greatest hour of need. Veterans and first responders are incredibly effective within the humanitarian space.” Since its inception, the organization has provided relief from hurricanes to tornadoes to volcanoes and earthquakes. Aerial Recovery has been conducting rescues in 20+ countries including missions taking place throughout the United States, Haiti, Honduras, Afghanistan, the Bahamas, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Cuba, and Ukraine, where it extracted over 7,500 orphans and displaced citizens out of the war zone to safe houses in other parts of the country. Aerial Recovery team members recently assisted with medical and SAR (Search and Rescue) responses in Hawaii as the Aloha State recovers from deadly wildfires. To date, Aerial Recovery has saved over 8,000 lives across the globe. The non-profit survives on donations and fundraising efforts. "These guys are amazing," said Suárez, who enters Saturday night's race after leading 12 laps and finishing 16th at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City on Sunday. "The more I have learned about them, the more honored I am to represent them. I have learned that they respond so quickly that they are often the first group to the disaster, beating all of the other recovery agencies there. At Trackhouse, we are always about speed and execution, so that is very impressive to me." To learn more about Aerial Recovery and support their work, visit www.AerialRecovery.org today.
